Oakland City Will Not Participate In 2026 MSFL Season
The Midwest Sprint Football League announced Tuesday that Oakland City University will not participate in the 2026 MSFL season following the university’s decision to suspend undergraduate operations for the 2026-27 academic year.
The league was notified of Oakland City’s decision Tuesday afternoon.
“This was a difficult decision for the Oakland City administration, reached after many weeks and months of discussion and fact-finding,” said Ron Prettyman, commissioner of the MSFL. “We wish President Dempsey and the Oakland City staff well as they navigate these challenging times.”
The MSFL will continue working with its member institutions and athletics directors regarding plans for the 2026 season. The updated 2026 MSFL schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
