Calumet College of St. Joseph Sweeps MSFL Weekly Awards
The Midwest Sprint Football League Has Selected Its Players Of The Week for Week 4 of the 2024 season. Each week, the league will select an Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Week 4 Award Winners Are:
OFFENSIVE:
Jamall Warnell, CCSJ (Orange, Texas / Oakdale HS)
Recorded 12 rushes for 120 yards in the 24-18 overtime victory over Bellarmine. He averaged 10 yards per carry and his longest rush was 48 yards.
DEFENSIVE:
Jared Cuevas Cottrell, CCSJ (Griffith, Ind. / Griffith HS)
Jared had 10 tackles (6 solo and 4 assists), 2 tackles for a loss, 2 pass break ups and one interception in the thrilling 24-18 overtime victory over Bellarmine.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Jeau Vinatieri, CCSJ (Las Vegas, Nev. / Arbor View HS)
Vinatieri was 1-of-1 on field goals. He made a 42 yard game tying field goal at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. Finished the contest 1-of-2 on PAT's. His six punts for an average of 31.3 yards including a long of 54 yards in the 24-18 overtime victory over Bellarmine.
A LOOK AHEAD:
Three games are on the slate for Week 5 of the MSFL season. Three games are slated for Saturday, October 12 as Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College will travel to Bellarmine for a 1:00 p.m. (ET) matchup. Calumet College of St. Joseph will travel to Oakland City for a 1:00 p.m. (CT) matchup. Quincy heads down to Midway for a 7:00 p.m. (ET) tilt. Walsh will enjoy the bye week in Week 5.
