Midwest Sprint Football League Announces 2024 Postseason Honors
The Midwest Sprint Football League is proud to announce our postseason honors for the 2024 campaign. MSFL Commissioner Ron Prettyman would like to congratulate all of our honorees as well as the seven league members who fielded successful sprint football campaigns in the third year of play.
The Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave earned the league's championship with a 38-13 win over regular season champion Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College on November 9 in West Terre Haute, Ind.
Jay Novak takes home the 2024 MSFL Coach of the Year honors after leading the Crimson Wave to a league record 11-game winning streak and a second place finish in the regular season. They defeated Bellarmine and SMWC en route to claiming the league title.
Jeremiah Tosky of SMWC is the 2024 MSFL Offensive Player of the Year following another outstanding season in Terre Haute. Tosky's 2,022 passing yards led the league while his 21 TD passes also finished tops in the MSFL. A 3-time MSFL Player of the Week, Tosky led the league with a 167.7 passer rating in 2024.
Trevor Busse of CCSJ has been selected as the 2024 MSFL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league and the Crimson Wave on the defensive side of the ball. Busse posted 58 total tackles this season an average of 7.3 stops per contest. He added a quarterback sack and 37 solo stops on the season. He tallied nine tackles for a loss this season to give him 31 for his career.
Marques Reese of SMWC is the 2024 MSFL Special Teams Player of the Year. Reese averaged over 55 yards per kickoff return including a pair of scores on kickoffs this season!
Below is the complete list of our top honorees this season. Each league head coach received one vote for MSFL Coach, Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Special Teams Player of the Year. The all-conference teams were also selected by league coaches who nominated their own players and then ranked the Top 28 players in the league on offensive and defense as well as the top six performers in special teams. After all the votes were received, the league office honored the top vote getters in all three phases of game. Ties were not broken, everyone who received enough votes in the rankings have been honored this season.
The 2024 MSFL Champions of Character Team was also selected by the league head coaches with two selections per institution. Our Champions of Character Team honors the top players for each league member who excelled this season on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
