Bellarmine, Calumet, and Quincy claim Rivalry Week Player of the Week honors

As the final weeks of the first MSFL season come to a close, standout performances continue on. Week 5's Player of the Week honors features some returning faces with Calumet's Saez and Bellarmine's Reid, and one new face with Quincy's Lingard. 

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Ray Lingard, Quincy University

LB, So., St. Louis, MO

  • Registered 11 tackles (6 solo/5 assisted) in Quincy's 35-6 win over Fontbonne

  • Finished with 3 Tackles for a loss of 22 total yards, 1 forced fumble, and 1 FR/10 yards

  • 3 sacks for a loss of 22 yards

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Brenden Reid, Bellarmine University

RB, Fr., Jonesborough, TN

  • Had a season-best game with season-high 232 rushing yards in 25 carries in Bellarmine's 49-19 win over Midway

  • Averaged 9.3 yards per carry 

  • Scored 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown

 

Special Teams Player of the Week

Jared Saez, Calumet College

P/K, Fr., Leesburg,FL

  • Saez kicked the winning field goal for the Wave, to break the 27-27 tie with SMWC, from his longest distance of the year at 42-yards to win 30-27

  • Was 3/3 on Field Goal kicks ( 32-yards, 22-yards, and 42-yards) and 3/3 on Extra Points kicks to walk away with 12 of the Wave 30 points

  • Punted for 110 yards in 3 attempts with 1 In20 and had 306 yards kickoff yards in 7 attempts.

Week 3: Brenden Reid, Bellarmine (Defensive), Brennon Landry, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College (Offensive), Jared Saez, Calumet (Special Teams)

Week 4: Isaac Hegwood, Calumet College (Defensive), Chris Reckel, Fontbonne University (Offensive), Cordell Walker, Quincy University (Special Teams)
